Ranks, medals and leaderboards

Your trading and feedback history now earns you a military rank and a cabinet of medals, shown on your profile. New leaderboards rank the community by season and all time, and your AirsoftTrader history counts towards it.

There is nothing to turn on. Ranks and medals were worked out for every existing account the day this shipped, including the history carried across from AirsoftTrader, so your profile already has both. If you would rather not appear by name on the leaderboards, there is a setting for that, covered further down.

Shown in the web app for now. Ranks, medals and the leaderboards live in the web app. The mobile app does not display them yet, but everything you do in it still earns points exactly the same. Showing them on mobile is coming in a future app update.

Ranks

Everything you do on TradeSoft earns points, and your points total gives you a rank. There are 12, running from Recruit at the bottom through Private, Lance Corporal, Corporal, Sergeant, Staff Sergeant, Warrant Officer, Lieutenant, Captain, Major and Colonel, up to Brigadier.

Your rank sits on your profile with its insignia, your points total, and how many points you need for the next one. A small rank badge also appears next to your name wherever you turn up: listing cards, the seller panel on a listing, message threads, questions and answers, feedback and discussions.

Selling, buying and leaving feedback are worth the most. Publishing a listing and answering a question on your own listing are worth less. Asking a question is worth very little, on purpose.

Feedback already tells you whether someone is good to deal with, and it still does that job. Rank is a different signal. It shows how much someone has actually put into the place, over years rather than in one transaction.

Medals

There are 27 medals in three groups.

Six of them come in Bronze, Silver and Gold, and you move up as you do more: Trader for sales, Buyer for purchases, Reviewer for feedback you leave, Trusted for positive feedback you receive, Lister for listings published, and Helpful for questions answered on your own listings.

Six are one-offs: Founding Member, Launch Medal, Verified, Club Member, Kitted Out and Ideas Man.

The last three are 1st Place, 2nd Place and 3rd Place, awarded at the end of each season. Those stack, so winning two quarters shows as a medal with a small "x2" on it.

Your profile already showed your rating, review count and deal count. Those are numbers. Medals show what kind of member you are: someone who reviews everyone they deal with looks different to someone who has sold 50 items, and both of those are worth showing.

Note that Verified and Club Member repeat what the Phone Verified and Club Verified badges at the top of your profile already say. They are there so the cabinet is complete, not because they tell you anything new.

Leaderboards

A new page under Community > Leaderboards has two tabs. Season covers the current quarter. All time covers everything, including carried-over history. Both can be narrowed to a single Club or Region.

Seasons are calendar quarters. The current one is Q3 2026, running 1 July to 30 September. When a season ends the top three are awarded placement medals, and everyone starts level for the next quarter.

Community > Leaderboards, on the Season tab for Q3 2026.

All time rewards years of trading, which means the same names will sit at the top for a good while. The season board is the one that is actually a contest, which is why it opens first.

Your AirsoftTrader history counts

Every piece of feedback carried over from AirsoftTrader kept its original date and counts towards your points and medals. If you were trading in 2018, that is on your profile now.

One thing to know: the old site did not record trades separately from feedback. Each piece of feedback you received has been counted as one trade towards your Trader medal. That is why your Deals count can read 0 while you still hold a Trader medal. Deals counts trades completed here on TradeSoft. The medal counts your whole history.

Starting everyone at zero would have thrown away a decade of the community's trading record, and made a brand new account look identical to someone who has been dealing since 2016.

What a rank actually tells you

A high rank and a full cabinet mean someone has been here a long time, traded a lot, and stuck around to help other people. That is useful context when you are weighing up a deal, and it is context a brand new account cannot fake overnight.

It is context, though, not a safety rating. Feedback is still the trust signal on TradeSoft, and neither one replaces doing your own homework: read the feedback itself rather than the count, ask questions, and follow the usual precautions on payment and postage. Rank tells you how invested someone is in the community. It does not tell you how this particular deal will go.

Choosing not to appear by name

Under Dashboard > Privacy there is a setting called Show my name on leaderboards. Turn it off and you appear on the boards as "Private user" instead.

The Privacy settings page in the TradeSoft dashboard, showing a Leaderboards section with the Show my name on leaderboards toggle switched on, above the Discussions privacy toggles
Dashboard > Privacy. The toggle is on by default, so you appear by name unless you change it.

You keep your position, your points and every medal. Your season placements are hidden from your public profile, because a podium finish would give away where you sit. Your other medals stay visible.

Your position is public whether you like your name attached to it or not. Removing people entirely would let anyone quietly disappear from a ranking they were losing.

Limits worth knowing

  • The leaderboards show the top 50 only. That is a fixed number, not something you set. Your own position is always on your profile, however far down you are.
  • No points means no place on the boards. If you have not earned any yet, you do not appear on them at all.
  • Season boards only count activity on TradeSoft from 1 July 2026 onwards. Carried-over AirsoftTrader history counts towards All time and never towards a season, even where its original date falls inside one.
  • Placement medals are awarded when a season ends, not while it is running. For Q3 2026 that is after 30 September.
  • Medals are never taken away once earned, even if you later delete the listings or the activity behind them.
  • Points can go down. Publishing a listing earns points, and archiving or deleting it takes them back. Marking a listing Sold keeps them, and adds more.
  • Drafts earn nothing until you publish them.
  • The rank badge is always your all-time rank. On a season board, someone's badge reflects their whole history, not their score for that quarter.
  • Closed and deleted accounts stay on the leaderboards as "Deleted user", with their position and points. They are part of the record.
  • Ranks and medals unlock nothing. No extra bumps, no listing slots, no fee changes, no priority in search. They are recognition and nothing else. That is deliberate: the moment a rank buys you something, people start farming it instead of trading.

Where it fits

Rank-ups, new medals and season placements show up in Notifications in the web app, alongside everything else. Nothing about your rating, review count or Deals count has changed.

Open the web app, look at your profile to see where you landed, then head to Community > Leaderboards to see how that stacks up against everyone else. It sits next to Discussions, Clubs and Events.
