Buying used airsoft pistols

Second-hand airsoft pistols listed on TradeSoft. Most are gas blowback: Glock, Hi-Capa, 1911, M9/M92 and SIG patterns from Tokyo Marui, WE, VFC, KJ Works and others, along with CO2 pistols, a few electric (AEP) pistols and revolvers. Hi-Capas and Glocks are the most traded because parts and magazines are easy to find.

A pistol is a common second purchase: a sidearm for when your primary runs dry, or a main replica for CQB and practical shooting games. Gas pistols lose some performance in cold weather, so think about green gas versus CO2 magazines for winter play.

On a used pistol, ask whether the magazines hold gas overnight, check the slide and frame for wear, and ask for a firing video. Spare working magazines add real value. Pistols are replicas like any other in New Zealand, so transport them out of sight in a bag or case.

Questions

How much do used airsoft pistols cost in NZ?

On TradeSoft right now, most airsoft pistols are listed at $200 to $400. Across the 48 that sold in the last 90 days, the middle asking price was $300. Condition, brand and upgrades move the price a lot, so compare similar listings before you buy or sell.

What is the best airsoft pistol to buy?

Tokyo Marui pistols are the benchmark for reliability, and Glock and Hi-Capa patterns from reputable makers are the easiest to keep running because parts are everywhere. Second-hand, look for one with working spare magazines.

Gas or CO2 for an airsoft pistol?

Green gas is gentler on most pistols and common in New Zealand, while CO2 holds pressure better in the cold and hits harder. Check which the pistol is designed for before you buy.
