Buying used airsoft guns

Every airsoft replica listed on TradeSoft: electric AEGs, gas blowback rifles and pistols, HPA builds, spring snipers and shotguns. Electric and gas replicas make up most of the market in New Zealand, with HPA growing among players who want consistent, tunable shots.

If you are buying your first one, an AEG is usually the easiest place to start: it runs on a rechargeable battery, copes with cold mornings and is cheap to keep running. Gas blowback is more realistic but costs more to run, and spring replicas suit snipers and players on a tight budget. Our AEG vs gas vs spring guide walks through the trade-offs.

Before you buy a used replica, ask the seller for a video of it firing and a chrono reading with 0.20g BBs, and check it suits the limits at the field you play. Most NZ fields cap outdoor AEGs somewhere around 400 to 450 FPS. Confirm what comes with it (battery, charger, magazines) and whether it has been upgraded, because internal upgrades change both performance and value.
