Editing your profile
A complete profile is one of the fastest ways to build trust on TradeSoft. Here's how to set your photo, display name, bio, home region and social links so other Kiwi players know who they're dealing with.
Where to edit your profile
Open the Profile tab and tap Edit Profile. Every change is saved when you tap Save changes at the bottom of the screen, so you can update as much or as little as you like in one go.
Your photo
Tap your avatar at the top of the screen to add or change your photo. Pick an image from your phone, crop it to a square, and it becomes the picture shown next to your name and on your listings. A clear photo (or a tidy club or team logo) makes your account feel a lot more real to buyers and sellers.
Your name and bio
- Display name. This is the name shown publicly across TradeSoft, and it also forms the web address of your public profile page. You can change it any time. It needs to be unique, so if the name you want is already taken you'll be asked to choose another. If you leave the display name blank, your name is shown instead.
- Name. A required field. If you set a display name, that's what other traders see, so your name is not shown publicly on its own.
- Bio. A few lines about yourself: what you play, your local field or club, and the sort of gear you tend to buy or sell. It's optional, but a good bio helps others place you.
Your location
Set your home region and your closest town so buyers and sellers know roughly where you are, which makes local pick-ups and meet-ups easier to sort. Pick your region first, then the town list narrows to that region.
Social links
Under Social links you can add your Facebook, Instagram, YouTube and TikTok. Enter your handle or username for each one you want to show (for example your Instagram @handle), and leave the rest blank. Linking a public account or two gives other traders another way to see you're a genuine, active member of the community.
Build trust with a complete profile
The more complete your profile, the more comfortable people are trading with you. Once the basics are done, it's worth taking two more trust steps:
- Verify your phone number for a trust badge on your profile and listings.
- If you belong to a registered NZ club, look into club verification for an extra badge.
