Leaving a note on your listing
Got an update to share? Post a note on your own listing and the people already interested get a heads-up, no need to wait for someone to ask.
What a note is
A note is a short message you post on your own listing, in the same Questions & Answers section buyers use to ask you things. Unlike a reply, a note isn't tied to anyone's question: it stands on its own and is visible to everyone viewing the listing, flagged as a Seller note. Think of it as a small announcement pinned to your item.
How to post a note
Open your own listing and go to the Questions & Answers section. Because it's your listing, you'll see a Post note option at the foot of the Q&A. Tap it, type your note into the Note for buyers field, and tap Post note again to publish. That's it.
Who gets notified
This is the part that makes a note worth using. When you post one, TradeSoft sends a notification to people who have asked a question on your listing, so anyone waiting to hear back from you knows there's an update. It reaches interested buyers directly, rather than sitting quietly on the page hoping they come back to look.
Better than a silent edit
You can always edit your listing to change the details themselves, and you should when something is simply wrong or out of date. But an edit is silent: nobody is told it happened. A note is the opposite, it actively lets interested buyers know. So they work well together:
- Dropped the price? Update the price on the listing, then post a note so keen buyers hear about it.
- Added photos? A note nudges people back to take another look.
- Still available? A quick note reassures anyone who wasn't sure whether it had gone.
Keep notes for real updates
Because a note pings people, it's best kept for things genuinely worth their attention. For back-and-forth with a single buyer, answer their question directly or carry on in private messages instead. A note is your one-to-many announcement; a reply or message is your one-to-one chat.
