Managing push notifications

Choose exactly which TradeSoft alerts reach your phone. You can switch push on or off overall, then fine-tune the individual alert types you care about.

Where to find your notification settings

Open the app and go to Profile, then under the Account section tap Push Notifications. This screen controls the alerts that are sent to your phone, even when the app is closed.

Push alerts vs the bell inbox. These settings only affect alerts pushed to your phone. Your in-app notifications in the bell inbox always appear regardless of these settings, so you never miss the record of what happened, you just choose whether your phone lights up for it.

Turning push notifications on or off overall

Push notifications need permission from your phone's operating system first. If you haven't allowed them yet, you'll see an Enable push notifications button at the top of the screen. Tap it and accept the system prompt to start receiving alerts.

If you previously declined, the app can't ask again, so you'll see an Open device settings button instead. That takes you straight to TradeSoft's entry in your phone settings, where you can allow notifications. To stop all pushes later, turn TradeSoft notifications off in those same device settings.

Choosing which alerts you get

Once push is allowed, use the switches under Categories to turn each type of alert on or off independently. Everything starts switched on, so you're opted in to the lot until you dial it back. The categories are:

  • Questions on listings: when someone asks a question on one of your listings.
  • Answers to your questions: when a seller answers a question you asked.
  • Seller notes: when a seller posts a note on a listing you asked about.
  • Messages: when someone sends you a direct message.
  • Leave feedback: when a completed purchase is ready for you to rate the seller.
  • Scam flag alerts: when one of your listing's photos is flagged by our reverse-image check.
  • Club invitations: when a verified club adds you as a member.

Changes save the moment you flip a switch, so there's no separate Save button. If you turn push off at the device level later, these category switches simply become inactive until you allow push again.

Tip. Only want the essentials? Leave Messages and Questions on listings on so you never miss a genuine buyer or seller, and switch the rest off to keep your phone quiet.
