// BUYING ON TRADESOFT
How to make an offer
Found gear you want but the price isn't quite right? Making an offer is completely normal on TradeSoft. A bit of friendly haggling is just part of the community. Here's how offers work, and how to make one that gets accepted.
Every listing has a price, and offers are welcome
Every listing shows a price the seller is hoping to get. Think of it as a starting point rather than a fixed figure: you can either pay the asking price, or open a conversation and negotiate.
There's no separate "offer" system with accept and decline buttons on TradeSoft. You make an offer simply by messaging the seller from the listing and talking it through in DMs. Don't be shy: haggling is completely normal in the airsoft community, and most sellers expect a bit of back and forth. The worst they can say is no.
How to make an offer, step by step
- Open the listing and tap Message seller.
- Send a message. Write your own (ask for more details or make your offer), or tap the default "Is this still available?" starter to get the conversation going.
- Chat back and forth in DMs and agree on a price that works for you both.
- Once you've agreed, sort out payment and shipping or collection with the seller, right there in the chat.
If you decide not to go ahead
There's no formal offer to cancel: while you're still chatting and haven't agreed on anything, you can walk away at any point. Even so, it's good form to send the seller a quick message to say you won't be going ahead, rather than going quiet: it keeps the community friendly and frees the seller up for the next buyer. Once you've agreed a price, though, the seller is counting on you, so only commit when you're sure.
Tips for an offer that gets a yes
- Be realistic. Lowball offers often get ignored. Check what similar gear sells for first.
- Be ready to deal. Mention you can collect locally or pay promptly; sellers value an easy transaction.
- Be polite. A short, friendly message builds rapport and makes a seller more likely to say yes.
After you agree on a price
Sort out payment and either a local meet-up or shipping with the seller, right there in the chat. TradeSoft doesn't handle payments, so follow safe-trading basics: meet in a public place where possible, inspect the item, and keep a record of the deal. For more, see how to trade airsoft gear safely.
