// ACCOUNT MIGRATION
Moving from AST to TradeSoft.
TradeSoft is the new home for the New Zealand airsoft community, and we're bringing a good chunk of AST across with it. Here's exactly what's being migrated, what isn't, and the couple of things worth doing before AST switches to read-only.
The migration is happening on 21st July 2026.
TradeSoft is a mobile-first app and it's live now, on the Apple App Store, on Google Play, and on the web. On 21st July 2026 we're carrying AirsoftTrader accounts across, and migrated users are emailed directly. Download TradeSoft to get started.
The short version
We're taking a snapshot of AST on 21st July 2026. Anyone who had an approved account, live listing, along with the traders tied to those listings and the feedback they'd built up, is being carried over to TradeSoft, around 7,800 users in total.
Your migrated information is claimed automatically when you create your TradeSoft account, as long as you sign up with the same email address you used on AST.
I used Facebook or Google to login
If you used a social media account to login or create your AirsoftTrader account, then you will just need to use the same email address that was tied to your Facebook or Google account.
What we're migrating (and what we're not)
Coming across Yes
- Active listings Any published listing that was for sale or available as of the 28 June 2026 snapshot.
- The primary photo of each listing The first image only. Add the rest yourself once you're in the app (see below).
- The trader behind each listing Email address and display name, so your account is ready to claim.
- Profiles with a feedback history Users who've received feedback, and users who've left feedback for others.
- Your feedback Collected feedback is synced across to both traders involved in each trade.
Not coming across No
- Passwords You'll set up fresh sign-in when you create your TradeSoft account.
- Private messages Back up anything you want to keep before AST goes read-only.
- Watchlists and saved listings
- Sold, archived, pending and draft listings
- Account verification states We no longer collect that personal info.
How to claim your migrated account
To keep account creation controlled, new accounts can only be made in the TradeSoft mobile app. Once your account exists you can also sign in on this website whenever you need to.
-
01
Download the app
TradeSoft is free on iOS, in testing on Android, and available on the web.
-
02
Sign up with your AST email
Use the same email address as your AST account so we can match you to your migrated data.
-
03
Your info syncs automatically
Your listings, profile and feedback are linked to your new account, then you can sign in on the web too.
Two things worth doing now
We're leaving AST online as a read-only system for a couple of months after TradeSoft launches, no new listings, messages or activity, just a window to grab anything you need. Before it goes read-only:
Back up any private messages
Messages aren't migrated. If there are conversations, contact details or deal history you want to keep, save or screenshot them while AST is still fully live.
Add extra images to your listings
Only the first photo of each listing comes across. Once you're in TradeSoft, open any migrated listing and add the additional images you want buyers to see.
Australian users
We know a number of our traders live in Australia but come over to New Zealand to play airsoft, and use the marketplace to buy and sell while they're here. We're opening the web app up to Australian airsofters too.
To keep account creation controlled, the mobile app, and signing up for a brand-new account, stays New Zealand only. Australian users can still be set up manually where it makes sense, provided they're vouched for by the New Zealand community or a club.
If you're an Australian trader who already had an AST account before the 28 June 2026 snapshot, and that account had given or received feedback, or had an active listing, it's migrated automatically along with everyone else's, nothing extra needed.
